Fresh Water Line??

Stinky Water in Your Home? The Problem May Be Hiding Inside Your Well System

One of the most common calls we receive at Good Ole' Plumbing Services is from homeowners dealing with stinky water, a sulfur smell, poor water quality, or concerns about their well system. Recently, we were called to a home where the homeowner was experiencing a strong odor in their water and wanted answers.

After arriving at the property, we performed a thorough inspection of the entire well system, including the pressure tank, filtration equipment, water treatment components, and plumbing connections. During our inspection, we discovered something that immediately raised concerns.

The pipe shown in the photo is a fresh water supply line that carries water from the well system into the home. This pipe was heavily deteriorated and contaminated internally. Every gallon of water used for drinking, cooking, bathing, laundry, and cleaning was passing through this line before entering the home's plumbing system.

Unfortunately, many homeowners assume that a sulfur smell, stinky water, discoloration, or poor water quality is always caused by the well itself. In reality, the problem can originate anywhere within the well system, including old piping, filtration systems, pressure tanks, water softeners, or treatment equipment.

This is why a proper diagnosis is so important. Simply replacing filters or adding chemicals without identifying the root cause often results in wasted money and ongoing water quality issues.

If you are experiencing:

 Stinky water
 Sulfur smell (rotten egg odor)
 Poor water quality
 Well system problems
 Low water pressure
 Filtration system issues
 No water to the home
 Rust-colored water or staining

It may be time for a professional inspection of your well system.

At Good Ole' Plumbing Services, we specialize in well systems, water filtration systems, water softeners, sulfur removal systems, and diagnosing difficult water quality problems throughout Cape Coral, Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, and Lehigh Acres.

Our goal is simple: identify the real problem, recommend the correct solution, and help ensure your family has safe, clean water flowing into your home.

If your water doesn't smell right, taste right, or look right, don't ignore it. The source of the problem may be hidden where you can't see it.
